Post Match Quotes:

Team USA

Robyn Ah Mow-Sabtos – Captain

“Our focus was to concentrate on our side and keep momentum going into the next two games by feeding off the hard work and fight that Trinidad gave in that match.”

Ping Lang - Head Coach

“This being our first match we really wanted to concentrate on our own side as we know later on we will have much tougher matches. Overall I think we did a pretty good job, especially in serving, it looked like we were concentrating better. Although we did not serve very hard, we limited the errors.”

Team Trinidad and Tobago

Renele Forde – Captain

“I think the game for us since the last time we played the USA was an improvement. Our team is generally quite young and inexperienced, but I am proud of how we played.”

Francisco Cruz - Head Coach

“When you have such a gap in competition level between one team and another it is very difficult to set a specific objective for the players to accomplish. I would prefer that my players not worry to much, it is a long term project so we only stressed one objective to accomplish and that was to work on our attitude, not to give up and to fight back the whole way through the match. Looking from that point of view I am satisfied with what they did.”
